April 2018

Welcome to April News from the team at Home Sous Vide.

Now Easter has come and gone! Or has it? For many households the sweet smell of left over chocolate is permeating from the cupboards and no matter how hard you try to hide it, the kids seem to still be able to fox it out. But you have to admit that the enjoyment of sharing the occasion with friends and family and that indulgent morsel of Chocolate is one of the pleasures of the calendar year.

So, what do we do with left over Easter chocolate? Do we stash it or perhaps think of other ways to use it creatively, so everyone can share in the leftover joy? Whether it be at a dinner party or picnic, we have a few ideas to get you started…

The Control Freak™ is a beautifully designed benchtop/portable induction cooker. Unlike conventional cooking, induction uses magnetic energy to heat the pot. There is no flame or broad base heat. Provided you have access to a power point and some induction friendly cookware, you can safely cook up a storm.
Successful chocolate, cheesemaking, pastry, yoghurts, sauces, shallow/deep frying and sous-vide all require accurate temperature cooking. Near enough just isn’t good enough. The Control Freak™ revolutionizes induction cooking by being able to hold temperatures in 1°C increments. No more burning or scalding which means no more waste, just amazing results.

Schnitzels … so easy on the Control Freak™ … Oil in a pan, set to 180 degrees … set the timer to 2½ minutes each side. perfect consistency each time.I still love it. I pretty much do all my cooking and sous vide on it now. I rarely use the regular stove top.
